Frank N. Carr is Manager of the, Sutton Daisy Creamery, open since 1894. On the advice of two of the first founders, S.N. Boright and F.A. Olmstead he purchased the creamery in 1919 with five partners. Six years later he bought from John Seale this large house, built by the farmer Nathan Powers, where five generations of Carr lived. In the 1960s Frank Carr’s son, Cecil Frank and his wife Ola Dyer open an antiques store in the barn. At the time it was also used as an exhibition hall and storage places.

The gable end of this Queen Anne-style house is clad with ornaments lozenge-shape wood shingles. Windows are frame with simple mouldings and small bevelled coloured panes. The large angle-veranda with is shingles parapet was added in 1927.

We acquired the House in 2007, from the 5th generation of Carr’s, to make a Bed & Breakfast. We carry out the renovation while retaining the Queen Anne style of the house.
